The seasoned brake technicians at Lonsdale Auto Works are no strangers to brake repair, replacement, and other services. We have decades of experience helping Lonsdale vehicle owners manage anything, from routine brake maintenance to more complex brake repairs.

Among the services we can do for your brakes include the following:

When is the Perfect Time For Brake Repair?

It’s important to schedule maintenance for your brakes at least once per 10,000 or 12,000 miles. This may be once a year, depending on how much you drive, or even every six months if you commute longer. You may want to refer to your owner’s manual to determine the best time to schedule a brake service for your vehicle.

That said, you may need to bring your vehicle for repairs if any signs or symptoms of damage occur. These include:

Brake Repair vs. Full Brake Replacement

Most braking systems require both replacement and repair at some point. But when is the best time to schedule each service? And how do you know which one you need?

Complete brake replacement is the total replacement of the entire braking system. All brake components are replaced depending on the vehicle’s make and model, including brake pads, rotors, and calipers. This is usually required when the brake components are severely worn or damaged beyond repair or when the vehicle has high mileage.

On the other hand, brake repair typically involves fixing or replacing specific parts that are worn or damaged. Commonly repaired or replaced parts are the brake pads and rotors. Repairing is a less extensive (and less expensive option) than a complete brake replacement.

Typically, brake repair may involve diagnostics to identify looming problems with your brakes. With this preventative maintenance approach, you can get the necessary service before an active problem arises.

At Lonsdale Auto Works, our brake mechanics do this to identify minor issues before they become more significant concerns. We provide routine brake maintenance and other services to prolong the life of your brakes.
